About Montessori International School

Montessori International School is an AMI-certified Montessori toddler environment, preschool and kindergarten school, as well as a Montessori elementary and junior high school, for children 18 months to 14 years of age. The school, founded in 1982, has two locations in Mesa, Arizona.

The teaching staff is led by Therese Kestner, B.A., M.Ed, AMI, certified for K - 8, and specializing in learning disabilities. She has taught and directed Montessori schools for the past 39 years.

Our classrooms are places where children are given the opportunity to achieve academic and personal success. The goal in these environments is to encourage the development of a love for learning in each child. The principles put forth by Dr. Maria Montessori are utilized in the primary and elementary classrooms. Each of the teachers in these classes uses their training to create environments that cater to the characteristics of the children in their classrooms.
